Khemetic Heka and Nordic magic with vampyric attitude (Archein)

If I started practicing magic many years ago, I have no idea what type of magic it would be. Indeed, I was interested in Ancient Egypt,  vampirical horror stories, Lovecraft, and the Thoth tarot deck. Before me lay a long path full of ambushes, difficulties,  and  emotionally tense situations. We all are personalities with various dispositions and various handicaps, and  for personal growth, we have to get to know ourselves with both these sides and balance them. In this article, I write about my main branches of magic.    I am the type of mage who needs immediate contact with entities. If I am writing about the mage I mean the psychical state. This way of work interested and absorbed me, but doing this work for practical life is considerable two things: The first is the learning to perceive every eternal being without fantasies. This type of learning has  demands on time and consistency.  The second is the cultural context. I am still conv...

From LARP to real magic (Keithre)

Fairytales, fantasy books, and LARP are „places“ where you can find „magic“. But what is it like to practice magic in the material realm? You will find the answer to this question on your own. I want to tell you about my path from LARP to magic. Fantasy stories and LARP could be good for practicing the imagination and help bring out enough creative spirit for later magical practice. But there is a danger that consists of  unreal ideas and trapping yourself in a fantasy/LARP world and fantasies about your own  abilities, whether good or bad. There is only one way to get off these fantasies, self-knowledge, and awareness of our fallibility, our „unheroic“ sides, but also the positive ones on which we can build. If we want to get somewhere in the magic, we must look in the mirror and admit: This is me. It is not easy, but necessary. Only then can we begin to work with ourselves. To get rid of something, to change something, to strengthen something, and to start a magical practice...

The Path to the Nord Star is open (Daniel)

My path to Nordic magic was not so romantic in the beginning. It is romantic yet. I am describing my way to this wonderful path in this article.    At first, these were attempts to perceive the gods I understood as intelligent entities, not as phenomena of nature or some clusters of energies. My period of trying to find something has lasted a few years. I have gone into nature and performed libations for the gods. I have to say that from the beginning I gravitated towards the god Týr, without a logical explanation for it, only my feelings. Pretty soon after that, I made my wooden rune pendants. But since I was not adept at magic, they had no magical charge. They just didn't work. So far I have only obtained information from the Internet. After a while, I got some information about runes from one person trying to be popular, especially among the pagan community. Unfortunately, the information provided about the runes was often out of step with their standard meaning. A person w...

Samhain Offering (Alastar)

I call to the spirits of my kin When the veil between the worlds becomes thin With no fear at heart I enter the rite When the day is over and begins the night Incantations and evocations are sung As loud as I can from the depth of my lung The incense is burning, the smell has filled the room The smoke is forming... the spirits appear soon The sage purifies the air There is a shade behind me that stare Will you appear from the smoke of sage Whole my altar is your stage And I offer up something thou can feed upon For a year cycle is too long So I invite you to my hearth and home Under the protection of old crone Light the candle for the dead To enlight their way back and warm their bed On the eve of samhain night I call upon an unseen wraith Spirits of the Earth, water, air and fire I need you in the circle for the Halloween is nigher Sentinels of elements Leave behind all sentiments For they have many names They come from the thinning veils And I feel their cold embrace The ancien...
